History

Grandad Guerrino

A central figure in the family is Guerrino, whose name harks back to the time of his birth: the First World War. A man with diligent hands, deeply rooted in tradition yet possessing a forward-thinking and experimental mindset. His mantra was: "You can never have enough school."

Supported by his wife, Grandmother Maria, he achieved remarkable results with the small family winery in Conegliano Veneto, producing wines of exceptional quality.

Luigi

Raised alongside his father Luigi, he embraced his values, knowledge, and passion for the land. After earning his diploma as an oenologist, he gained experience at the Conti di Collalto estate in Susegana and the Villabruna estate of the Zoppas family in Carlino. His dedication to the land, with a deep respect for natural balance, earned him the “Belleuropa Award 2010” at the European Parliament.

In 2016, Luigi took over the current winery in Prepotto, launching a project for an organic winery with agritourism, set in a context of biodiversity and environmental sustainability

Donatella

Donatella, passionate about country living, interior design, and collecting, dedicates herself to the business by creating spaces infused with a touch of retro charm. It was her idea to restore some of the original colors of the buildings and incorporate various styles to create elegant yet understated, welcoming, and relaxing spaces—a true contrast to the hectic pace of modern life.

By paying close attention to the interior and exterior layout of the different areas, her design choices convey a sense of naturalness and simplicity, combined with refined taste

Francesca & Emmanuele

The project is embraced and developed by their son Emmanuele and his wife Francesca, driven by the desire to live in a healthy environment and continue the family traditions with passion, after spending many years abroad where they encountered different cultures and rediscovered ancient winemaking traditions, such as the use of amphorae, which they introduced to the company in a modern way.

Their love for nature, relaxation, and culture completes the vision of this project, which aims to turn the winery into a small work of art available to guests.

By valuing the small, the quality, and the family, they are laying strong foundations for the future of their daughters, Johanna and Maria.

The future projects

We never stand still – we work to transform ideas and dreams into projects and tangible realities.

Even when the land is difficult, like the Ponca, it teaches us to appreciate and value what we have and love. The borderlands of Friuli are challenging, and resilience and passion are essential. However, we are convinced that our vision and future proposals will be positively received by the community.

We are not just wine and accommodations – we are a family with diverse backgrounds, eager to share our passions with others.

Beyond wine

In addition to wines, accommodations, and nature, Ca' Lovisotto offers the opportunity to taste native wild herbs, honey from hives in the vineyards, a wellness area with a swimming pool, sauna, and Finnish hot tub, bike rentals, an event room, and a cultural meditation room with historically significant artworks.
